Bob and Anne Steed along with Rhys and Helen Dackers farm 333 hectares at Tangiteroria on the banks of the Northern Wairoa River. We have medium clay soils prone to the summer dry. We were established in 1981 as members of the ARDG.

 

Our emphasis is on FE tolerance, WWT, NLB, FLW and BW10 months, we have in the last decade added FEC worms.

 

Our focus has been on easy care rams performing in the North Island and top of the South Island. We have been testing for FE for the last 35 years. ARDG are industry leaders in this trait in the CPT (Central Progeny Test) programme.

 

In recent years we have bred Finn Composites and more recently moved to Highlander Composites. We can also source Primeria Rams.

 

 

 

Originz Carpets

Bob and Anne are founding shareholders in the Northland Carpet Company in which Bob has also been Chairman since its inception. The company sources all wool from its shareholders in Northland and manufactures to specifications, colour and design. The point of difference is that the company owns its own supply base and we are able to monitor quality all the way down the value chain to the customer.
